Jamie Lewis & Jon McNaught, preparing the field, Thursday. Pic by Tomo.
It was good having Jon and Jamie around for the weekend. They have both made significant contributions to Caught by the River over the past 18 months – Jon, the illustrations in On Nature and Jamie, the cover for the of Words on Water paperback and the Southbank Variety Show poster. It was nice to get to know them both better. Top guys and very talented.
Bjorn Rune Lie pic by Jamie Lewis.
Bjorn Lie and Ben Newman are two artists from Bristol (as are Jon and Jamie) whose work we have been into for some time. They both have a great sense of humour plus Ben makes brilliant masks making them our face-painters of choice this year. Oh, and congratulations to Bjorn and the future Mrs. Lie.
This is Ben performing ‘contemporary face-painting’ on our very own Florence Walsh.
Finally, this is Port Eliot regular and artist in residence in the Arcadia tent, Pete Fowler. Having studied in Falmouth and lived for a summer on Scillies, Pete is practically a local when it comes to all things Kernow. As the man responsible for Caught by the River mascot Fitch (who made an extremely psychedelic Residents-esque appearance this year) and a full time Monsterist, the festival just wouldn’t be the same without him.
