This slipped under my radar when it went out a while back on BBC4 but a friend kept on badgering me to watch it saying how much i would love it. They were right. A no gimmicks travelogue round Britain exploring the country’s love affair with the car this is a beautifully narrated series that reminds me most of Betjeman’s Metroland but fronted by a dishevelled, swearing Northerner. The bad news is that it is only available on IPlayer until 10.29pm tomorrow night (Thursday). Catch it while you can.
