Caught by the River is honoured to have been invited to join the exemplary cast of curators at Field Day 2013. Having been as punters every year since the start, the prospect of putting on a stage is as exciting as it is daunting – hopefully we can bring something uniquely pastoral to the very best metropolitan festival in the country.
On last week’s newsletter, the competition prize was a pair of tickets for Field Day. We asked: Caught by the River’s Jeff Barrett first visited Victoria Park (home of Field Day) in April 1978 to attend a political rally and music concert headlined by The Clash and Steel Pulse. Can you name the organisation behind this event?
Well the answer we were looking for, was Rock Against Racism. However as quite a lot of entrants pointed out, the actual gig was organised by Rock Against Racism, and the days events (speeches, march) were organised by the Anti-Nazi League. So if you answered either, or both; you made it into the deerstalker.
And the lucky winner is Graham Clark of Middlesex. Congratulations
Thanks, as always, to everyone who entered the competition. To be sure not to miss out on future competitions, sign up to our newsletter here.
