Seasons End – 04/11/12
This photo I have had in mind for a number of years but have never had the right conditions. It sums up autumn on the river for me. The beech tree is reflected in the water as a single leaf floats down the river. To capture this photo I needed early morning sun but I didn’t want mist rising on the river which you often get in the autumn because of the warmer water and colder air temperature. Luckily it had been cold for several days so the mist wasn’t a problem. I also needed a leaf floating down the river in the right place. The leaf in the darker area of the water frames it nicely drawing the eye to it.
