A roundup of new sounds to see the weekend in.
First up, something new from Nick Power. We were recently romanced by his poetry, and we’ve become pretty enamoured with his latest musical output too. Recorded in a caravan in North Wales, the album soundtracks a book of poems and short stories of the same name. You can listen to/purchase the whole album via Bandcamp. Nick’s books are available here.
Next, meet two new Heavenly Recordings signings: the Paris-based multi-instrumentalist Halo Maud, and Detroit singer/songwriter Anna Burch. See the former for reverb-drenched vocals, undulating guitars, and weightless melodies, and the latter for deceptively warm and friendly songs with a dark undertone.
We’re really digging what Charlotte Gainsbourg’s been up to…
…and finally, on a house tip:
Happy listening. Happy weekend.
