CURRY BONFIRE & WINE

26th July 2024

A postcard lying on top of a manhole cover in Pollença, Mallorca. If we were to see the other side of this card you would read the words written by Tracey Moberly inviting you to be at The Curfew Tower on the evening of Wednesday the 7th of August for Curry, Bonfire & Wine.

Kind Folks,

While King Boy D might be transitioning into a Kingfisher, a far more important transitioning is taking place. This being The Curfew Tower transitioning into being Graceland in The Glens.

Although…

This second and more substantial transitioning will not be complete until the twelve months of this year are done and dusted, you are more than welcome to come and inspect this fluid and dangerous transitioning in progress, on the evening of Wednesday the 7th of August 2024.

That said…

This second and more substantial transitioning will not be fully celebrated until Wednesday the 6th of August 2025, with the world premiere of the feature film STAY and the staging of The 25 Comeback Special for The Ghost of Elvis…

But…

On this coming Wednesday the 7th of August 2024…

Selected chapters from the yet to be published THE NATURAL HISTORY OF CUSHENDALL will be presented.

And if you did not already know…

THE NATURAL HISTORY OF CUSHENDALL has been researched and documented by writers and artists invited by Caught by The River to do time in The Curfew Tower during 2023.

Also…

On the evening of this coming Wednesday the 7th of August 2024…

The Irish storyteller Steve Lally will be confronting our world with his SEVEN-EEN-SOULS. This confrontation will take place in the prison cell of The Curfew Tower.

What SEVEN-EEN-SOULS will be laid bare in a follow up Penkiln Burn Newsletter to this one.

As for the CURRY, BONFIRE & WINE…

Tracey Moberly will have made the Curry*. a local artist will have built the Bonfire. And you will have brought the Wine. Be at the Curfew Tower by 7pm. The night lasts as long as there is Curry left in the pot, Flames still to flicker in the fire and Wine still to be supped.

*Both chicken and vegetarian Curry will be available.

But before that last flame flickers…

The future life and times of Luke Kearney will be toasted by all.

Hope you can make it.

Kind Regards,

admin@penkilnburn.com
