Stanley Donwood – The Lost Domain

15th November 2024

Later this month, Stanley Donwood returns to Jealous gallery, London EC2A, for The Lost Domain. The exhibition features a selection of works printed in the Jealous Print Studio.

“‘The Lost Domain’ or ‘Le Grand Meaulnes’ is the title of the only book by Alain-Fournier, who was killed during the first month of the First World War. It is a strange novel about the hopelessness of longing for the unobtainable. With some friends, I set up a small print publishing company and called it ‘The Lost Domain’. This was back in 2021, and since then we have released twelve editions of pictures that I have made. These pictures are also about the hopelessness of longing for the unobtainable.” – Stanley Donwood, 2024.

Stanley Donwood is an artist and writer, best known for his work with Radiohead, having won two Grammys for his artwork for the band’s albums Amnesiac and In Rainbows. He has been the official artist of the Glastonbury music festival since 2002. Donwood set up The Lost Domain, his print publishing company, during the pandemic to continue working and providing work to people he knew. Goodwill is at the heart of this project, and 10% of all sales will go to Freedom From Torture, a charity close to the artist’s heart. The Lost Domain will run from 28th November until 21st December at Jealous, 53 Curtain Road, EC2A 3PT. More information here.
