One of the highlights of the Whispering in the Leaves project at Kew Gardens this summer was Chris Watson’s discussion with Sir David Attenborough and Richard Ranft at the Royal Institution on 10 August. A memorable event, the discussion in the Faraday Theatre revealed Sir David as an early pioneer of wildlife sound recording, and explored shared experiences of recording in the wild. An edited video of highlights from the Royal Institution talk is now online and can be found HERE.
Later on this week (Thursday I think) a short film that Chris has made about the River Coquet will be a feature of the BBC2 Autumnwatch programme. Those of you that have read our ‘Words on Water’ anthology will already be aware of Chris’s relationship with the Coquet and I’m sure, like me, you’ll be looking forward to seeing it on film. Here’s a link to their website for further information.
