What do you love about nature in the UK? What would you miss if it disappeared?
These are the questions currently being posed by the People’s Plan for Nature — a UK-wide initiative powered by WWF, the National Trust and the RSPB. Until 30th October, its organisers are collecting anyone and everyone’s thoughts on the future of nature — which will be collated and shared during the People’s Assembly for Nature in November. The final result will be “a plan for action and change too big for anyone to ignore”.
They write:
The nature crisis affects everyone, so everyone should have an opportunity to be involved in the conversation about how we protect it.
Between November and February 2023, a representative group of 100 people from across the UK will come together to listen to what you’ve shared and hear from experts. Together, they will develop a set of recommendations and a plan to help protect and restore nature in the UK.
The People’s Plan for Nature will feature a set of recommendations that take into account your input and the outcomes of the People’s Assembly for Nature. It will set out how the government, businesses, NGOs and communities can take action to tackle the nature crisis.
