Taking place on 29th September, Salmon Run is a community ceremony marking the migration of endangered Atlantic salmon over 50 miles from the sea at Exmouth to Exmoor. Runners or walkers of all ages take on various run lengths along the river from sunrise to nightfall to empathise with the exertions of the salmon against many odds to reach the spawning grounds.

Salmon Run is supported by The Westcountry Rivers Trust, which aims to improve the health of the river Exe, and in particular to modify or remove the redundant weirs that impede species mobility.
