Words from the wise at last night’s Caught by the River Social Club. A great night. Thank you to everyone that came along and made it memorable. Thanks to poet-in-residence Will Burns, to Stephen Cracknell for the tunes, to Melissa Harrison for reading from Clay (her debut novel and our current book of the month). To Cheryl Tipp and Ian Rawes for the sounds and the questions. To Luke Jennings for reading Homecoming his contribution to Willow Pitch II (the new and essential anthology of angling stories from the Little Egret Press). And finally many thanks to John Andrews who took on the role of MC and ended the evening with a reading of The Ice House, a piece of his that was originally published in Waterlog (Winter 2009/10). Thanks also to Joe and the staff of the Queen’s – we’ll be back.
More photos from the night going up tomorrow; details of the next event to follow shortly.
